These photographic works are based on research into the history of the racial concept of the Yellow Race as it was established in Europe in the 18th century, and the Yellow Peril, a theory of the Asian threat that emerged in the West in the late 19th century. In Germany, where I lived, there was a great deal of discrimination against Asians immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic, which I also witnessed, and I became interested in the history of discrimination against Asians in European society afterward, which is why I began work on these photographic works.
